Laura Albiero graduated at the Conservatory of Music of Novara, guitar class, and then she had her Master’s Degree in Musicology at the University of Pavia. She received her PhD in Paleography at the University of Rome ‘La Sapienza’ and her diploma in medieval book history at the post-graduated school of the University of Cassino.
She worked as a researcher at the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne, at the Laboratoire de Médiévistique Occidentale de Paris (LAMOP) and at the Institut de Recherche et d’Histoire des Textes (IRHT). She catalogued manuscripts at the Bibliothèque nationale de France as a team member of the Polonsky project England and France 700-1200.
Her main research interests include medieval liturgical uses, the study of liturgical manuscript fragments and the archeology of the book. She’s currently working at a large project on the production and circulation of manuscript breviaries between the 13th and the 15th century.
